Welcome Trojans! My name is Jim Reif, and I am honored to be the 9-12 principal at New Auburn. I have spent 19 years as a high school math and science teacher, and 7 years as an administrator. I am excited to work in New Auburn where we focus on building strong relationships centered around providing a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students. We will develop lifelong learners by providing them with authentic and relevant learning experiences.
We have high expectations for every student and we provide each of them with behavioral and academic support as they work to achieve their goals. The culture and climate of our school is a focus of our staff. The expectations are simply to be responsible, be respectful, and be productive. These expectations are to be followed in all areas of the school: playground, bus, cafeteria, bathroom, classroom, hallways, and the office.
Through a team approach, we will coordinate plans to meet the needs of all students, so they can be successful and learn the essential standards at each grade level.
We are excited to offer the trimester system which will allow students more opportunities to take electives while only needing to focus on five courses at any one time. Resource times will be allocated before and after lunch to provide students with the opportunity to seek assistance or expand their learning. It is vital that students take advantage of these in person resource sessions. Please see the district calendar for the start and end dates of the trimesters.
We offer a large variety of opportunities for our juniors and seniors to get college credit through UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stout, CVTC, and Northwoods Technical College. We also offer Youth Apprenticeship, and focused work release to allow students to pursue various career paths. We are proud that the graduating class of 2022 had earned over 100 college credits while still attending New Auburn.
Being part of Trojan Country is a great opportunity, and I look forward to working and learning with the students, staff, and community. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me and we will work together to provide the best learning experience for our students. We will work together so we can have the best environment possible for your child to grow and learn.
Together we will make our school an educational leader in rural Wisconsin.
Go Trojans!!!
